About the Program

Chaminade University’s MSCJA Program offers students a theoretical and practical understanding of all aspects of the criminal justic system while preparing them for leadership roles in their careers.  Grounded in judicial theory and practice for both civil and criminal areas, graduates are prepared for managerial and research positions in both the public and private sector.  The program also prepares students for instructional positions within the academic community.  Many graduates of the MSCJA program go on to pursue additional graduate education such as law school or enjoy rewarding careers in the criminal justice profession.

Program Concentrations

Correctional Track

The Correctional Track is primarily directed toward meeting the needs of the Department of Public Safety as well as Federal, State, and County correctional personnel. Our MSCJA degree is recognized by the Department of Public Safety as the equivalent of a Master’s Degree in Social Welfare (MSW) for positioning, pay, and promotion.

Law Enforcement

The Law Enforcement Track, with a leadership and management curriculum, is designed for those working in law enforcement on the federal, state, and local level and for those seeking advancement into leadership positions within those agencies.

Generalist Track

The Generalist Track is a composite of courses designed to give the interested student a look into the inner-workings of the entire criminal justice system including law enforcement and corrections. This track can be completed on-ground or online.
