Military Base Access

Non-military students wishing to attend Chaminade University classes held on military bases are welcome on a space-available basis, subject to a background check and approval from Base Authority in the form of a pass for each base. Students should register early and must contact the appropriate office site to submit a pass request prior to the start of the term.

Students enrolled at multiple sites are required to obtain a pass for each site. All non-military students registered at military sites must contact the site office at minimum 14 days prior to the start of the term to request a pass. No late pass requests will be accepted.

Access to some military bases may not be possible due to increased security conditions. Students are reminded they are guests on all military sites and are required to conform to all base rules and regulations while there. Seat belts must be worn at all times, speed limits and any other restrictions must be obeyed. Motorcycle and moped operators and passengers must wear a helmet and reflective vest.

Please note: In accordance with the REAL ID Act of 2005, individuals with drivers’ licenses from Minnesota, Illinois, Missouri, New Mexico and Washington are required to provide an additional form of identification in order to obtain a base pass for all military bases in Hawaii.

Requesting a Pass

Contact CUH Pearl Harbor/Hickam base coordinator with the following information to request a pass:

  • Full Name
  • Date of Birth
  • Place of Birth
  • Driver’s License Number and State of Issue
  • Citizenship Status

Pass Pick-up

An email confirmation will be sent once the pass is approved and ready for pick up at the Pass & ID Office. The following documents must be presented when picking up a pass:

  • Valid, government-issued photo ID
  • Current Vehicle Registration**
  • Safety Inspection**
  • Insurance Card**

  • Full Name
  • Last four digits of applicant’s Social Security Number (SSN)

Pass Pick-up

Applicant will be notified via email from (CUH Schofield) when pass has been submitted. Passes will be issued at Leileihua Golf Course. Applicants are to call Leileihua Golf Course at (808) 655-1620 to see when pass will be ready. At time of pick-up applicant must present the following documents:

  • Valid, government-issued photo ID
  • Social Security Card or W-2
  • Current Vehicle Registration**
  • Safety Inspection**
  • Insurance Card**
